Thursday

Woke up an hour before my alarm again... even with no nap yesterday. Do I perhaps need less sleep since I'm not eating a pound of white flour/sugar each day?

Had a fried egg and a quarter of the teeny baby watermelon for breakfast. Very tasty.

Fixed a veggie medley last night to take to work with me today. I have a giant cup (I'd say it's 64 ounces) that I've been taking to work filled with Brita water. When I was filling it this morning, I recalled stopping at the Shell station and filling it up with soda to take to work. Let's see... 64oz/12 = more than 5 cans of soda fit in there! And sometimes I'd fill it again on the way home.

Lunch was the veggie medley & pork chop.

Dinner was 12 yummy shrimp (I splurged at the store) and an artichoke. The artichoke was really inexpensive and tasted great steamed! The old preparation of butter, garlic, cheese, and bread crumbs was out the window. Today I just put a pat of butter on it. I steamed an artichoke the other day and ate it plain. Plain's not bad.

Everyone at work has now gotten wind of my efforts. The boss approached me about the donuts tomorrow for a big event. No problem, I said. Seriously, if I can resist Baskin Robbins yesterday on 31 cent scoop day, a donut is no problem. Plus, I'll have just eaten a good breakfast and won't be the least bit hungry.

I have one more pork chop/veggie medley in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch. Then Dad is cooking turkey for dinner tomorrow night. I bought a bit more turkey at the store today so he can bake extra. Then I'll have leftovers for Saturday and Sunday lunch. Always planning ahead.

  1. Wow - what a realization about that cup and the soda that could fit into it!! That's really interesting that you aren't as tired already. How much sleep did you used to get a day? And now?
