Enjoyed some of Chris' grilled beef for breakfast and lunch today before heading out with Dad.
Shopped at 3 different groceries, the middle of which has the nut grinder in the bulk section. I tried almond butter this time. As Kimberly suggested, I dipped my apple pieces into it for a snack. YUMMY! I'd say the almond butter kicked the peanut butter's butt!
While we were out, Chris grilled the chicken that I prepped before I left. That made for a marvelous salad with the tomatoes, scallions, mushrooms, and Crunchy Sprouts that I brought home.
I didn't feel hungry today... not like I have the last couple of days. It was starting to feel like the "novelty" of eating well had worn off and I was seeking out ways to cheat. Not today! I don't know if it was timing my meals and snacks better? Making sure I had water with me?
I'm looking forward to Zumba tomorrow. I have so much fun there. Last time, I was looking in the mirror and thinking how amazed I was that I was participating in (and completing) exercise classes. I know!
Oh, yes, and I was planning to weigh myself tomorrow before going to the Y, but I think I'll wait. I'm going to the doctor on Wednesday, so I'll do it then.

Hi! I'm back from Napa. Needless to say, I won't be calculating that trip on FitDay.com!!!
ReplyDeleteSo many cool things in your posts since I've been gone - water arobics sound great! And congrats on 1 full month down. That is a great accomplishment - you should be very proud of yourself. I know I'm very proud of you.
I agree with Kimberly on the food qty thing. I was going to say something earlier, but wasn't sure that I knew the right thing to say. But -- there are a couple of ways to find out how much you should be eating. Two that I know of are weight watchers and the Zone diet books. Both will give you guidelines on food quantity, but in different ways. WW will give you 'points' but any intelligent person can figure out the calories. And the Zone gives it to you in grams of protein, fat & carb. For me, they were both about the same qty of food. So maybe pick up a Zone book at the library and see what it reco's. Or there are probably WW 'rip off' sites that can tell you what they would say. A big (huge) thing for me is the balance of carb, protein and fat in each meal. If I'm out of balance, I get hungry faster, get the munchies, or get a tummy ache. Another thing to maybe think about... The Zone reco's 40/30/30 percent ratio of CALORIES between Carb/Protein/Fat. Of course, Fat has so many more calories per gram that you get way less Fat grams than protein, but that ratio is spot on for me. Maybe give that a go, too???
Alright - I'm rambing. Have a good night!!
